Create a secure and comfortable home for your flock: Our handcrafted mortise-and-tenon solid wood chicken coop. Every poultry farmer desires healthy, happy, and consistently productive chickens. The foundation for this lies in a coop meticulously designed—not only to ensure comfortable living conditions for the birds but also to simplify operations for the owner. Guided by this philosophy, we have crafted this handcrafted mortise-and-tenon solid wood coop, paying attention to every detail to provide a peaceful sleeping environment and ample space for active movement, while offering farmers unparalleled ease of installation and effortless maintenance. Bedroom: Suspended Design for Moisture Protection and Safety. Chickens spend nearly one-third of their day resting and sleeping, making a safe, dry, and comfortable bedroom essential. Our poultry houses feature independently designed cottage-style bedrooms with a suspended structure that elevates the entire sleeping area above ground level. This design offers multiple advantages: First, it prevents moisture from the floor, maintaining dryness in the bedroom even during the rainy season in the south or when snowmelt occurs in the north, effectively reducing the risk of respiratory diseases or foot problems in chickens. Second, the suspended structure makes it difficult for predators such as rats and weasels to enter from below, significantly enhancing nighttime security. Additionally, the suspended space itself serves as a sheltered area for daytime activities, allowing chickens to cool off or avoid direct sunlight. The bedroom is equipped with meticulously designed resting rods. Chickens instinctively prefer perching at elevated positions at night—a behavior ingrained in their genes. Tailored to the chickens 'body size and claw structure, the rods feature a rounded, slightly curved cross-section and moderate width, allowing their claws to grip naturally for both comfort and slip resistance. The rods are arranged in two tiers to accommodate the flock's hierarchical hierarchy, ensuring each chicken can find its optimal resting spot. Convenient Access: The small-door chicken coop features both manual and automatic operation modes. The bedroom is equipped with a dedicated door for chicken entry and exit. Considering the varied daily routines of home poultry keepers, the door is designed with flexible control options. You can choose manual operation—opening in the morning and closing in the evening—to enjoy the ritual of interacting with your flock; or opt for an automatic timer that opens and closes at set times. Whether you leave early or return late, or are traveling, your chickens can enter and exit regularly without safety concerns arising from forgotten door closure. The door dimensions are precisely calculated to allow easy passage for chickens while effectively preventing entry by larger predators. Observation and Cleaning: A specially designed access door is essential for routine poultry care operations. Regular health checks of the chickens and bedding replacement in the housing area are indispensable daily tasks. To facilitate these procedures without disturbing the flock, a dedicated observation and cleaning door has been installed on the side of the housing. When opened, this door provides clear visibility of each chicken's condition, the normality of their droppings, and the moisture level of the bedding. For bedding replacement, operators can simply reach through this door without disassembling any components or entering the housing. The door panel features a robust locking mechanism that ensures a tight seal against the wall when closed, preventing air leakage or rain ingress. Ventilation Windows: Ensuring Air Circulation Without Direct Wind Exposure While the bedroom requires thermal insulation, it must never become stuffy or polluted. Chicken manure produces ammonia gas, and poor ventilation allows this gas to accumulate, severely compromising the respiratory health of chickens. We have installed adjustable ventilation windows in elevated positions within the chicken coop's bedroom. These windows feature louvered or sliding mechanisms, allowing flexible adjustment of opening size according to seasonal and weather conditions. In winter, the openings are minimized to maintain only essential air exchange, preventing direct cold airflow on the chickens; in summer, they are fully opened to utilize the principle of rising warm air for natural convection, rapidly expelling hot and humid air. A fine metal mesh is installed on the inner side of the windows to prevent insects or birds from entering. This design ensures the bedroom remains consistently well-ventilated, enabling the chickens to sleep more peacefully and healthily. Activity Area: Spacious, safe, and well-ventilated run cages. Chickens cannot be confined to cramped spaces for their entire lives; they need to move around, dig in the soil, bathe in sand, and stretch their wings. Our chicken coops feature sufficiently spacious run cages as their activity area. The cage bottom is completely open, directly contacting the ground, allowing chickens to freely dig for food, peck at insects, and gather grass seeds—a crucial design element that supports their natural behavior. This open bottom also ensures manure falls directly onto the ground, preventing accumulation inside the cage and significantly reducing cleaning efforts. The running cages are reinforced with high-strength galvanized wire mesh. The mesh openings are carefully sized to ensure optimal ventilation and lighting while effectively preventing intrusions by natural predators such as weasels, raccoons, foxes, and stray animals. The mesh dimensions are designed to prevent chicks from emerging through their heads, eliminating the risk of entrapment. The wire mesh is secured to the inner side of a solid wood frame, preventing direct contact with the mesh by the chickens and extending its service life. A small access door is also provided on one side of the cages, facilitating the placement of food and water bowls or allowing chickens to be released for outdoor activities in the larger courtyard. The running cages and sleeping quarters throughout the poultry house are interconnected via the previously mentioned small doors. Chickens can move freely during daytime, returning to the sleeping quarters for rest and entering the running cages for exercise as needed. This integrated "sleeping quarters + running cages" design not only respects the biological habits of chickens but also simplifies daily management. The mortise-and-tenon structure: the perfect blend of stability and convenience underpins all these functions, embodying our proud mortise-and-tenon craftsmanship. All major connections in the chicken coop—including columns and beams, wall panels and bases, and roofs and frames—are constructed using handcrafted mortise-and-tenon joints, without any nails or metal screws. The advantages of mortise-and-tenon connections are twofold: first, the coop structure is exceptionally stable. The natural interlocking of tenons and mortises becomes increasingly tight as the wood undergoes slight expansion and contraction. Vibrations generated during daily use (such as from chicken movement or wind and rain) are absorbed by the elasticity of the joints, preventing structural loosening. Compared to nail or screw connections, mortise-and-tenon joints exhibit significantly superior seismic and wind resistance. Second, installation is quick and effortless. Since we complete all the most complex tenon work in the workshop, every component you receive is precisely formed. During installation, simply align the corresponding tenon with the mortise and insert it manually—no electric drill, level, or measurement lines required. The entire poultry house assembly is typically completed within ten to fifteen minutes, making it easy even for users with limited physical strength. For relocation or storage, reverse disassembly is equally quick; after removal, the components can be stacked for storage without occupying additional space. All-solid wood material: environmentally friendly, healthy, and pollution-free. We consistently use natural solid wood as the sole primary material for our chicken coops, rejecting engineered wood panels (such as plywood, particleboard, or density board) due to their heavy reliance on adhesives during production, which release harmful substances like formaldehyde over time—a significant health risk to poultry respiratory systems. Solid wood eliminates these concerns entirely. The selected wood undergoes rigorous drying processes to maintain moisture content suitable for outdoor environments and is coated with food-grade wood wax oil for surface protection. This wax penetrates the wood fibers, providing both waterproofing and stain resistance without forming a sealed film, allowing the wood to breathe naturally while ensuring zero toxic gas emission. You can rest assured that your flock lives safely throughout their entire lifecycle, from chicks to adult chickens. A well-designed chicken coop constitutes half the success in family poultry farming. Our handcrafted mortise-and-tenon solid wood coop features meticulous attention to detail: from moisture-resistant suspended bedrooms to spacious, secure running cages; from manual or automatic doors to operational doors that facilitate inspection and cleaning; from ventilation windows to adjustable resting poles; and from open底部 openings reinforced with wire mesh. The mortise-and-tenon construction and all-solid wood materials provide robust quality assurance for this thoughtful design. It offers quick, effortless installation; stable, hassle-free operation; and convenient, time-saving maintenance. If you're seeking a truly comfortable and reliable home for your flock, this coop is an investment you won't regret.
